Company History

The company was founded in 1981 as "Prestige Precision Products" by David W. Binn. The original focus of the company was to supply dies, fixtures and gauges to the Rochester, New York manufacturing community.

After gaining a reputation for top quality tooling, Prestige entered the precision machining arena. Quality had always been the number one driving force at Prestige, and now it furthered that presence as a first class component manufacturer.  Supplying local OEM companies with high quality mechanical components and assemblies.

Concentrating on the local marketplace, the company produced critical to function components and assemblies for Optics manufacturers, high-tech data storage technologies and many other technology based product companies.

Since that time, our company has continued to grow.  We are now partners with a “who’s who” list of the world leaders in optics and related instrumentation.  Our precision complex turning, vertical and horizontal milling along with Swiss turning  departments have expanded to include some of the finest manufacturing technology available.

In 2008, our company "identity" was changed which Consisted of  a new name and a new look.  We feel that "Xactra Technologies" echoes  our continual focus to be the best or "Exact" in all of our endeavors.  We are the same company, same team spirit.

The current owners of Xactra, J. Michael Grady and Michael D. Binn share a common vision along with their shared daily responsibilities.  That being to exceed their customer’s expectations in every category, while being recognized as the true choice mechanical partner to the OEM optical marketplace.

We are committed to this goal, by constantly improving our system of production, service, quality and productivity, to enhance the specific needs of our customers.  Now and in the future.
